Our story
Addison Pilot Shop has been a trusted part of the aviation community since 1986, when it was founded by Larry Shults and his wife, Earlette Shults in a small corner of Cavanaugh Flight Museum. Built on a foundation of service, knowledge, and a passion for aviation, the shop quickly became a reliable resource for pilots, students, and aviation professionals.
After Larry’s passing, Earlette Shults continued leading the business, carrying forward the vision they built together and establishing the long-standing reputation the shop is known for today.
A Legacy Continued
For over 20 years, Brenda Shults-Umfleet has been deeply involved in the day-to-day operations of Addison Pilot Shop. Beginning in 2002, she worked alongside Earlette, helping manage and grow the business while maintaining the consistency and personal service customers have come to expect.
Through years of working together, Brenda developed not only operational expertise, but a strong connection to the shop’s history, its customers, and the aviation community it serves.
Transition of Ownership
In late 2025, as Earlette stepped into retirement, Brenda and her husband purchased Addison Pilot Shop. This transition represents a continuation of the legacy built over decades—preserving the values, service, and integrity that have defined the business since its founding.
What We Offer
Today, Addison Pilot Shop provides a wide range of aviation products, including pilot supplies, training materials for flight schools and instructors, aircraft care products, and a carefully curated selection of aviation gear, books, and gifts.
The shop supports a broad range of aviation professionals, including medical and life flight operations and local law enforcement aviation units. As an authorized Bose Aviation dealer in Texas, Addison Pilot Shop remains committed to offering trusted products without unnecessary upselling—prioritizing what pilots truly need.
Customers often describe the shop as “the pilot’s version of Toys R Us”—a place where both seasoned aviators and students can find exactly what they’re looking for while enjoying the experience of being surrounded by aviation.
